Brief Resume


Emilios Galariotis is a first-degree professor of Finance at the Audencia Business School (EQUIS, AMBA, AACSB) in France and Vice-Chancellor for Research. In the past, he has served as the director of a research laboratory, founder and director of the Institute of Finance, founder and director of the Center for Finance and Risk Management (CFRM), President of the Department of Finance and Head of the relevant Research Axis. Before serving in his current position, Dr. Galariotis was at Durham University Business School in the United Kingdom where he was an assistant professor and director of the MSc graduate programs, while he also previously worked in different positions in the market.

He studied Political Science and International Relations at Panteion University. He then studied Business Economics and obtained a Masters Degree in Banking and Finance in London (Middlesex University Business School). He obtained his PhD in financial economics from the University of Durham and his "Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches Sciences Economiques" (HDR) from the University of Nantes in France.

He is currently a board member of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society, a founding member of the Hellenic Association for Energy Economics (subsidiary of IAEE) and participates in its board of directors. He has been President of the French Association of Finance (Affi) and participates in its board of directors.

His research focuses on behavioral finance and efficiency (for example in markets, local governments, tax administration, energy policy, etc.), and social finance (eg financial illiteracy, poverty, financial vulnerability, etc.). His work has been published in books/book chapters, encyclopedias, and over 60 articles in journals such as: Journal of Business Ethics, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial stability, Journal of Regulatory Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, The Energy Journal, Energy Economics, Small Business Economics, Journal of Development Studies etc.
